Siva Panchakshari - Own Composition

After 2 months of bad time with Laryngitis, throat infection and what not, huh!, I am back. :-). Ya, it was a real bad time for me I can't believe that I have spent more than 3 weeks without singing a single line!!! Now I am undergoing Voice Therapy under Dr. Jayakumar, KIMS Trivandrum, I am regaining my voice and pace. I am slowly starting my singing again. I have tried Siva Panchakshari this time. Siva Panchakshari or Siva Panchakshara Sthothram is praising Lord Siva with 5 Slokas each starting with letters "Na", "Ma", "Si", "Va", and "Ya" respectively which put together become "Namasivaya" which is called Siva Panchaksharam (5 letters). I tried composing the Sthotram in 5 different Ragas - Hamsanandi, Darbar Kanada (based), Revathi, SindhuBhairavi and as usual ending with Madhyamavathi. Be it in concerts or in my practise sessions, I end it with Madhyamavathi Ragam, as it is believed that Madhyamavathi has the ability to wash off all the faults in the singing till then. So, that is an anticipatory bail ;-). I know some of the faults I have made, waiting to know more. :-). This can be considered as my second start.
I am dedicating this as an offering to Lord Maheshvara, who has made me take this effort!

Pranayam - My Composition.

The song Pranayam is penned by Roshan. He is one of the Directors of the News Paper “Morning Bells” in Bangalore. He has done couple of Malayalam albums with Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. When I saw the lyrics, this is the first tune that stroke in my mind, and the song was done in 5 or 10 mints. I had only one voice in my mind, and I am glad that I got that voice for the song which made the song rich!

Balqis who has sung this song is in Dubai, doing her Msc in Medical Biotechnology. I got this nice buddy and blessed talent from the online friend’s forum www.shyju.com.She was the winner of Emirates star search 2002. She was semifinalist in Voice of Arabia,Kairali TV Gandharva Sangeetham (conducted in UAE) runner up and many more awards.

Yes, the much awaited time has come...The d-day is arriving shortly, on The Dec12th Blogswara V5 is going LIVE!
Blogswara is an online Music Community which helps the Musicians to showcase their Talents through Original Songs created by them. Blogswara was released in May 2006!
From the first time I heard about this initiative, it was my burning desire to participate in any of its version, which came true with Blogswara V5.
One of the 14 songs in Blogswara V5 is my song which is a Kannada one. When I put a suggestion of making a song for Blogswara to Mr.Surya Prakash, an upcoming lyricist in the Kannada Film Industry, he was so excited and gave me full support for making this song and obviously through his blessed Pen. When I was searching for the karaoke for this song to give a try, I got a mail from my ever BESTEST (Good, Better, Best, Bestest ;-)) friend Rashila which read "hooooii.........next song wish from u..........- oru malai from Gajni.". It was of not that much wonder for us, as this type of coincidence happened many times between us.As a very simple example, in college we (unknowingly) used to wear same colour dress for days together many times(not the uniform ;-)). She has been a very nice partner as a sister, mother, and sometimes even a grandmother ;-) for me from my college days. We used to create songs in our college days. She is a very nice lyricist. Around 5 to 6 songs are there in our credit, with my music and her lyrics which include a Patriotic song (in 4 Raagas) as well. It was real fun with her. I don't know when I can again sit with her and do a song,really missing those days.

Hi Friends,
It is my great pleasure to inform you that this is my 25th song in my blog. I am really grateful for your supports and encouragements which helped me in doing more and more songs. When I started my blog and posted my first song "Nilakaikirathu" in my own orchestration on November 18th 2006 with Roshini's guidance, I never thought it would help me this much to improve my singing, Thanks billion to Roshini. The bloging have equipped me to take over more challenging songs. My growth in the bloging field was a very slow one which any one can make out from the figures, only 25 posts with in 2 years. Still I am a kid in this field. But the lessons I got from my fellow bloggers and their songs are really invaluable, especially Murali Ramanathan, Harshan and Krishna of Cincivoice, Joseph Thomas and Murali Venkataraman.
I am thankful to all those musicians, from whom I could learn even a single Shruthi (note).
I should thank my Mridangam Master Shri.Amaravila V Padmakumar, who is officially my first Guru in the Music field. I shouldn't forget my Vocal Masters, Smt.K S Sangeetha, Shri. Vellarada T R Rajeev, Smt.Vanaja Teacher and Shri.Apsalone Sir from whom currently I am getting trained in Karnatic Vocals and Key Board.
I should extend my gratitude towards one of my ever best friends Shri. Aravind who showed me the real beauty of Ragas in music, who made me learn Ragas through his immense knowledge in this field.
How can I forget my parents who have been giving me immense support for my musical journey?
Also, I can't forget my listeners who have been giving me invaluable comments on my songs, especially BalaG Sir.
And above all, I should thank the Almighty for blessing me with such a precious gift.
Today I am trying something different. I tried to do the Saraswathi Sthuthi "Ya Kunthendu Thushara HaraDhavala" in 9 different Ragas, ie. each line in a different Raga.
The Ragas I have tried are Bhoopalam, Hamsadhwani, Hindolam, Desh, Kaanada, SindhuBhairavi, Saraswathi, Revathi and Madhyamavathi in that order. This is my humble try, please correct me if I am wrong any where. As in Narayaneeyam, "Ajnathwa The Mahathvam,Yethihanigathitham Vishvanatha Kshametha"

"Sargam" was a classic movie in the Malayalam Film Industry, with the splendid story and superb performance by Manoj K Jayan, Vineeth and Rambha. This time I am trying a song from "Sargam". "Sangeethame Amara Sallapame" is a very famous song and a tough one as well. With the words from the Pen of Shri.Yusuf Ali Kechery, the veteran song writer and with the music of Shri.Bombay Ravi.
Ravi Shankar Sharma, better known by his first name Ravi, has composed music for several Hindi and Malayalam films. After a successful career in Hindi films, he took a break from 1970s to 1984, and made a successful comeback as Bombay Ravi.
Shri.Bombay Ravi is famous for his melodies he made for Malayalam film industry. His first movie was Panchagni. The songs "saagarangale" and "aa raatri maanju poyi" were super hits. All the songs from the malayalam movie "Vaisali" released in 1989 were super hits and Chithra won National Award for the song "Indupushpam Choodi Nilkum" from the same movie. All His melodies are simple and soothening, no wonder they are still toppers in the list of Malayalam melodies.
I have tried to show justice to the original song rendered so wonderful by Malayalee's Dasettan (Dr.K J Yesudas), the rest I am leaving to my listeners. :-)

Finally, I could record a song after 2 weeks of very bad time with a cold and throat infection.I had planned to record this beautiful, energetic song of Raja Sir and SPB Sir just after my last song but I could do it only yesterday. I should say, it is a strong thrust of inspiration from the wonderful singer Shri.Ajay Warrier, that made me record this song inspite of my illness (now I am perfectly alright I think ;-)). I happened to listen to this song in Ajay's voice on last Sunday, when there was a concert of him with his cousins Shri.Jaideep and Mridula,Amritha TV SuperStars, in Bangalore, and I couldn't wait anymore to do my next song. It came out as a great inspiration for me, Thanks a billion to Shri.Jaideep for inviting me for the show. All the three were in a constructive competition among each other to make the show a massive success. Starting with a mindblowing Ganapathy Sthuthi in Hamsadhwani Ragam and "Shankara" from "Shankarabharanam" in Ajay's voice, through Jaideep's "Sangeethame Amarasallapame","Kainiraye Vennatharam", Mridula's "Konjum Nilavu", "Unarunaru", and kannada duet with Ajay etc,evergreen hits like "Pramadavanam", "Thenum Vayampum" etc, duets like "Kolakkuzhal vili", "Vaaji" from Shivaji, "Aajkal there mere pyar" of Jaideep and Mridula and Dappankuthu songs ;-) like "Randakka" from "Anniyan", and reaching the end of that wonderful feast with "Kuttanadan Kayalile" from Ajay and Jaideep (only a few among the list of songs). It was a splendid experience for each single person in that audience, for sure.About this song and the creators of this song, I think there is no need of mentioning, as this is a super hit from the Trio Vairamuthu-Ilayaraja-SPB. The lyrics is the main attraction of this song, in my view.Ofcourse Music is the life giving factor of a song, still. "Mugavarikal thavariyadhal azhuthidumo athu mazhayo", who can create such lyrics other than Vairamuthu!!! When the lyrics got moulded with Raja Sir's music and heard through the voice of SPB Sir, one can't just stop listening to it again and again. I don't know whether I could do a bare minimum justice to those Legends, the judgement is from my listeners.Please hear my version of this song and correct me.

When Balaji Sir, my orkut friend asked me to try this song, I was wondering how come I didn't sing this song yet!!! This was one of my favourite songs in my school days. I might have sung this song a thousand times in my bathroom ;-).So when I tried to sing this song, from setting up the devices till I completed mixing, it took hardly an hour. This is the first song in my blog which I have sung in a single shot, and which I had to sing only once. :-). This most beautiful song from the film "Pani theeratha veedu" is done in the most beautiful and romantic Ragam "Mohanam".The lyrics for this song came from the pen of Kerala's own poet Late Shri.Vayalar Rama Varma, and when it was moulded with the music of M S Viswanathan sir and heard through the Kerala's one and only "Bhava Gayakan" P Jayachandran Sir, an evergreen hit in Malayalam film music took birth.
Thanks a lot Balaji Sir, for reminding me about this beautiful song. Thanks a lot to my friends who have tried to get me the original version of the song which at last my Father got it for me from one of His friends :-).

First of all, my sincere apologies to Late.Shri Raveendran Mashu for disturbing his song. I am taking an opportunity to sing this beautiful song from the super hit movie His Highness Abdulla. This is my third Raveendran Hit in my blog, others being "Chandana Manivathil" and "Aalilathaliyumayi".
Raveendran Mashu doesn't need an introduction for the Malayalam Film Song lovers.After Devarajan Master there is no Musician who has contributed this much splendid songs to Malayalam film industry other than Raveendran Master. He was the only Music Director who has used the wide range of Yesudas Sir's voice from Mandrasthayi to Tharasthayi. The Trio Kaithapram - Raveendran - Yesudas has made the songs in His Highness Abdulla, a massive hit. In each and every song of Mashu, you can feel His signature, beginning from "Tharake" from Choola till "Vadakkumnadhan", His last movie. I am so blessed to try this song.
This is a very tough song to sing, and I was longing to get the karaoke of the song. When I got one, I had to make some forging to make it better. The recording quality is not so good as compared to my previous posts; sorry for that. Please correct my mistakes after hearing the song.

This time, I am taking the opportunity to sing a very beautiful Kannada song, "Ninnindale" from the film Milana. The film Milana was a huge hit in Karnataka. The performance of Puneet Rajkumar in the film was highly appreciated and when combined with the support of Parvathy and Pooja Ganthi, Prakash, the Director of the film could give a feast for the folks.Milana is the first film that Puneet Rajkumar launched after Dr. Rajkumar's death on April 12th, 2006. Major portions of the film have been shot in outdoor spots of Bangalore and a village mansion near Hebbal.
Team trio of Mano Murthy - Jayanth Kaikini and Sonu Nigam has given birth to this song. Mano Murthy's songs are very beautiful. I can say that I started listening to Kannada songs just because of His music. All his songs, whether from Mungaru Male, Cheluvina Chithara, Amruthavarshini, Ee Bandhana, will have a melody factor in that. I love this song very much, and I was hesitant to sing this song. I tried 3 times, but i was not happy with the way I rendered the song. I think this one has come some what good, it won't come any where near the original song though.

This time I am presenting a beautiful Hindi song. It has been a long time since I sung one Hindi Song, which was "Mere Sapnon Ki Rani" from "Aradhana". The song "Chand Jaise Mukhde" is from the film "Sawan ko aane do". Lyrics for the song was given by P Pankaj .The film in which Yesudas sang the most memorable Hindi songs is claimed to be Saawan ko aane do with music given by the notable late Shri Raj Kamal.
Shri. Raj Kamal was a well known Music Director and a Film Director as well. Other famous films with His Music are Ganga Maange Khoon (1997) ,Mahabharat (1988) TV Series ,7 Saal Baad (1987) ,Phulwari (1984), Katha (1983),Akhand Saubhagyavati (1982) ,Chashme Buddoor (1981) ,Payal Ki Jhankar (1980) Achha Bura (1972) etc. He was the Director for the film Zakhmi Haseena (2001). This song is one of my favourite songs. The voice of Padmabhooshan Dr. K J Yesudas has made the song an ever green hit.

This time I am presenting the ever green song 'Kanneer Poovinte' from the superhit film 'Kireedam'. "Kireedam" was a super hit in Malayalam film world. The song was composed by the Melody King, Johnson Master, with the elegant Lyrics of Shri Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri and when heard through the sweetest voice of Shri.M G Sreekumar , it became an ever green super hit in Malayalam film music. For this song, Shri.M G Sreekumar got State award for Best Male Singer, and Mohan Lal got Special Jury award for the excellent and unique performance in the film.

Since I am posting a song after a long gap, I thought of it to be a Devotional Song. Again Raveendran Magic , through this sweet song. The lyrics was given by Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma , the young poet of the era and gave voice by the most celebrated singer P Jayachandran.

Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma loves to remain in its comforting shade; it is for him a tangible presence of his father, lyricist Vayalar Rama Varma. "For someone who came to realise the greatness of his father quite late, every sign, every word about him becomes valuable. Comparisons to my father have always been there. His reputation, his greatness, like a shadow, has always been there. But it has not bothered me. For I know that I'm here only to complete a job he left incomplete," says Sarath, who is now firmly set on his mission.

This song has a good life which was imparted by the music of Raveendran Mashu. I've tried to keep that life. Its very difficult to sing Mashu's song and I'll be very tensed when singing His songs. This time I am presenting a sweet melody from the ever hit maker “G Venugopal”. Whenever a Keralite hears the name “G Venugopal”, the song “Unarumee Ganam” comes to his mind first. Such a haunting melody it is, that no one can stop hearing it, when once heard. Whenever Sri. M G Sreekumar sings for the legend Mohan Lal , the song becomes a huge hit. And the situation here is also not different. The combination of the Classmates (Mohan Lal And M G Sreekumar) has given many such hits to Malayalam Film Music.
The music of the song is done by Deepak Dev.This Song is the life of the album. It has a larger-than-appeal energy much like the film's hero Mohanlal. The beats are wholesome and heavy. M G Sreekumar's robust voice matches that.

...A sorrow behind this song...
In 1980, Kannadasan was not feeling well and was getting prepared to leave for Chicago for medical treatment. It was at this time that the film MOONRAM PIRAI was in the making. Ilayaraja sent for a song, and Kannadasan gave the song. That was the last song of the greatest poet the cine field had ever seen. As soon as Ilayaraja received the lyrics, he was overcome with untold sorrow. Ilayaraja himself is a writer of lyrics. He read and re- read the lyrics and sought to grasp the hidden meaning. Ilayaraja somehow had a premonition that this song would be the very last song from Kannadasan. He felt that Kannadasan had a message that he was leaving the Music lovers forever. That song was needed for a moving situation in the movie. In a very moving mood, Ilayaraja composed music for that song. And true enough Kannadasan never came back.This was the great poet's last song.
That last song of the poet brought crowning fame to Ilayaraja as the Music Director, Dasettan as the most appropriate singer, and by extension to Kamal Hasan as the one who provided lip movements. Dasettan had a great liking for this song.

Hi Friends , I'm presenting a Nostalgic Hindi song which is an all time hit. "Mere Sapnon Ki Rani" Kishore Da's one of the masterpieces from the film "Aradhana" .The song is a fast number enriched with Anand Bakshi Sir's Lyrics and S D Burman Sir's Music.
Anand Bakshi was born in Rawalpindi, now in Pakistan, on Monday, 21 July 1930. Anand Bakshi came to Bollywood to get a career for himself in singing but ended up becoming more successful in writing lyrics. He got his first break in films in 1956 when Bhagwan Dada signed him to write four songs for Brij Mohan’s Bhala Aadmi, from which he went on to work as a lyricist for over 300 films in the course of his life.He established himself as a versatile lyricist with the song Dum Maro Dum in the movie Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1972). After this, he wrote memorable lyrics in many movies including Bobby and Amar Prem ,Sholay,Hum,Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge,Taal,Mohabbatein, Gadar - Ek Prem Katha , to mention a few.Late in his life, he suffered from heart and lung disease as a consequence of life-long smoking. He finally died of organ failure on 30 March 2002 at Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital, at the age of 72.The last released movie with lyrics by Anand Bakshi was Meri Biwi Ka Jawaab Nahin (2004).Bakshi received 40 Filmfare nominations, and won four Filmfare awards as best lyricist. The songs were:Aadmi Musafir Hain in Apnapan ,Tere Mere Beech in Ek Duje Ke Liye , Tujhe Dekha in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge,Ishq Bina in Taal. S D Burman : Music director born in Tripura. Classical training by his father, sitarist and Dhrupad singer Nabadwipchandra Dev Burman; later with ustad Badal Khan and Bhishmadev Chattopadhyay. Early work for radio was based on East bengali and North eastern folk-music.In early 30s made a reputation in bengal as singer of folk and light classical music, e.g. at the Allahabad Sangeet Sammelan (Music Conference) in 1935. First record was of a Nazrul Islam composition.First film as singer: Tinkari Chakraborthy's Sanjher Pidim ; also acted in Dhiren ganguli's Bidrohi . Music director from 1939 onwards in Calcutta. Moved to Bombay and worked at Filmistan (Eight Days, Shabnam), Navketan (Afsar, Taxi Driver, Funtoosh, Guide) and for Guru Dutt (Baazi, Jaal, Pyaasa, Kagaz ke Phool). Remained Dev Anand's key composer for several years (Paying Guest, Tere Ghar ke Saamne, Jewel Thief, Prem Pujari). As a singer, his thin but powerful, accented voice was often used as a bardic commentary: e.g. the Wahan kaun hai tera musafir in Guide, Safal hogi teri aradhana in the hit Rajesh Khanna movie Aradhana. Wrote an autobiography: Sargamer Nikhad.
A man who can sing and dance, act and mimic, write and compose, make you laugh and cry all at one time,a person who lives by defying norms,a genius whose talent is immeasurable, Multi-faced, versatile, eccentric, sensitive - There has been only one such a man in Hindi filmdom, Kishore Kumar. Kishore Da was born on August 4, 1929.Since his childhood Kishore nurtured dreams of becoming a singer and following the footsteps of his idol K. L. Saigal. The young Kishore's real ambition was to become a playback singer and which became true, when, music director Khemchand Prakash called him to lend his voice for Dev Anand for the film Ziddi in 1948, the song was 'Marne Ki Duvayen Kyon Maangoon".He recorded his last song on october 12, 1987, a day before he died. Lata Mangeshkar's fond and fitting tribute best describes this great personality....."He was a sampoorna kalakar (the complete artist). He knew everthing. I call him India's Danny Kaye. G Devarajan and the evergreen voice of Dasettan , this song has found a permanent place in the hearts of youth.Even in this age of modern music with thundering Rock 'n Roll and Rap Music ,the soft music and smooth lyrics of this song is still possessing its place in the lips of each and every Keralite who loves Malayalam Music.
G Devarajan : Paravoor Govindan Devarajan, popularly known as G. Devarajan or Devarajan master has scored music for more than three hundred Malayalam Films, many dramas, twenty Tamil and four Kannada movies. Most of his compositions remain ever green classics in Malayalam. Besides, his music in the Tamil film 'Annai Velankanni' has received many accolades. Devarajan received Kerala Government's Best Music Director award for five times, among other honours.His first work which brought him to limelight was the drama song "Ponnarivaal ambiliye kanneriyunnoole".The first movie for which he composed music was Kaalam Maarunnu.His combination with Vayalar produced the golden era of Malayalam film music.Devarajan was the one who used maximum number of raagas in Malayalam film music.
Vayalar Ramavarma : a poet and lyricist. His works include Sargasangeetham, Mulankaadu, Padamudrakal, Aayisha, Oru Judas janikkunnu.He was awarded Kerala Sahithya Academy Award (Kerala literary academy award) in 1961--for Sargasangeetham, the President's gold medal for best movie song lyrics in 1974, and the Kerala state film award for best lyricist thrice. The Vayalar award for Malayalam literature, given on October 27 each year, was instituted in his memory.
Vayalar wrote about 2000 songs for 223 Malayalam movies, many of which reflect the sorrows and happiness of common man. Decades past his death, the movie songs he wrote are still popular among Malayalis. Among his most popular songs is the one he wrote for theatre, the KPAC naatakagaanam, "Balikudeerangalae".And the great lyricist passed away on 27-10-1975 leaving the hearts of keralites in deep sorrow.
Dr.K J Yesudas : The greatest South Indian musicians of all times, was born in Fort Cochin, Kerala, India. His father Mr. Augustine Joseph Bagavathor, was a well known malayalam classical musician and stage actor of his time . His mother, Mrs. Alikkutty Joseph, devoted her time and energy in bringing up her children. In his childhood Yesudas had to face a great deal of hardships because of the meager financial resources of his parents. His father could recognize the boy’s musical talent at a very young age and decided to provide him musical education at any cost. Augustine Bhagavathor himself was his first music Guru. The boy was taught the fundamentals of Carnatic music at the tender age of five. Indian music world soon began to witness the appearance of a new bright star in the horizon. Later several music teachers in and around Cochin gave him valuable guidance he was seeking. It is his passion for music, hard work and dedication that created the musical legend we call Yesudas or more intimately "Dasettan".He has already sung more than 30,000 songs for thousands of Indian films in various languages. In 1965, he was invited by the Soviet Government to perform music concerts in various cities of the U.S.S.R. Yesudas is the recipient of The Kerala State Playback Singing Award 16 times since 1970. The President of India conferred on him the coveted title of Padmashree in 1973. Other titles and prestigious awrds he has received include, `Sangeetha Raja' in 1974, `Sangeetha Chakravarthy' in 1988 and `Sangeetha Sagaram' in 1989. He received the award for the best playback singer for the year 1988 from Tamil Nadu Government and Andhra Pradesh Government respectively. Annamalai University honored him with a Doctorate in 1989. The Government of Kerala and `The Sangeeta Nataka Akademi' conferred the title of `Aashtana Gayakan’ – to Yesudas in 1992. The Government of Madhya Pradesh gave the `Annual Latha Mangeshkar Award’ to Sri Yesudas in 1992. Yesudas is the receipient of the 1991 National Award for the best Playback singer. This is the 6th National award that Yesudas has received. The 1992 Tamil Nadu State Government award for the best playback singer was given to Yesudas. For his unique contribution in the field of Music, he was selected for the prestigious NATIONAL CITIZENS AWARD in 1994.

This is a very beautiful song of Raveendran Mashu, Backed with Ezhacheri Ramachandran's Lyrics and the sweet voice of G Venugopal. The song is "Chandana Manivathil" from the film Marikkunnilla njan.The song is done in the Ragam "Hindolam" which is my favourite ragam.And its Raveendran Master who first showed the courage to do a film song in Hindolam.
Ezhacheri Ramachandran, the famous poet of Kerala has given such a beautiful lyric for this song. The lyrics is filled with romance,warmth and natural charm.
Raveendran, The Great Genious - Malayalam film music has witnessed a few geniuses when it comes to music. If the colossus of the old era was G.Devarajan, the medieval era through the 90s was dominated by Raveendran with his immeasurable contributions to malayalam film music.His classical songs were rigorous, melodies were mellifluous and orchestration was ecstatic. He made songs which truly needed geniuses or infinitely trained voices – Dr.K J Yesudas and Chitra of course being his most potent weapons in the arsenal.His Melodies Marked A new era in malayalam music history.His First song itself is an example (Tharake from Choola).He made world hear Dasettan's voice in a new style ie. to the base of his sound.He used the base pitch aswellas top pitch of Dasettan.A typical example being Harimuraliravam from Aram Thampuran.There Was an invisible bond between his music and Dasettan's voice.He used to say tht "I'll Stop Composing Music If Dasettan Stop His Singing ".But God Done it in the other way.

A true creation.As Kulathuppuzha Ravi(as he was called in his early ages) set off to Madras, for oppurtunities, the life was not smooth there.He wandered a lot to get a chance as a playback singer without even food for days.He used to say tht His best friends in Madras city were the Public Taps In the city.This reveals the tragic situations he had to face during tht time.And he got some oppurtunities as playback singer,unfortunately none clicked tht much.He again bgan to struggle.At tht time he saw Dasettan ,as usual askd 4 a chance.At tht time Dasettan was looking 4 a new music director for a new film Choola.He askd young Ravi whether he could try composing.He accepted and made the songs in choola the first one being Thaarake.It Marked the beginning of new era in malayalam melody history.And now Dasettan said him."You Are Not A Singer Who Sings The Songs Tht Some One Has Creator.But You Are More Suited As A Creator Of Music." Now I'm posting a new song which is a Karnatic Based song. Its "Alaipayuthe Kanna",which is performed by me at Sree Abheda Ashramam, Trivandrum.I've got a pretty good appreciation for that programme.That was a great stage where great eminent persons perform and i felt really proud and Thankful to God for giving me such an opportunity .
Sathguru Sree Abhedananda Maharaj was born on 1909 april 8th on the star "vishakham".He had been the Spiritual Guru of many great personalities.My father is a strong devotee of Sathguru Maharaj and we got many oppurtunities to know more about the greatness of Gurudev. Gurudev was a great musician.His Bhajans took the listeners to another world of devinity.Eventhough he haven't formally learnt music, He knew plenty of Ragas. When He sang, one get the feeling that He forgets Himself.According to Him, When doing Bhajan,you should Sing sing sing aloud till your heart breaks’.Such a holy person was Sathguru Maharaj. In 1958, Swamiji introduced the idea of Kodiarchana, where in He envisaged that devotees irrespective of caste or creed could join together chanting the divine mahamantra and conduct archana, a crore (kodi) times. Before this krithi, I sang "Swagatham Krishna" in Mohana Ragam.To my great excitement, towards the end of the song, Lord Krishna's Idle is taken out of the Temple for Shiveli (a ritual in which its believed that Lord Himself comes out of the temple to see whether His Boothaganams are satisfied with the Pooja offered.).It was a great excitement for me.You can hear the sound of Deeparadhana Bell ringing after Shiveli at the starting of this krithi.I believe its really a blessing of Lord.
